GIDDY DRUNK!

 

I want to get giddy drunk
So drunk I can’t stand up
Not from an alcoholic beverage
But from God’s overflowing cup

I want to feel His presence
Wash over me like a wave
Knock me clear off my feet
This is something that I crave

I want to hear the Holy Spirit
To listen closely to Him
Allow Him to control my life
Not do anything on a whim

I want to melt before Him
As my dross, He burns away
To make me what He wants
Out of this lump of Earthen clay

I know that it can happen
I’ve seen it happen before
“Please, God, I want to get drunk!”
“I need you more and more!”
