I Can See My Dad

In my mind, I can still see my dad

At the pulpit leading us in song

It was obviously what he did best

It was where he always belonged

His tenor voice was strong and pure

He enjoyed singing the old hymns

“When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder”

Was sung you could always hear him

Everyone knew and respected my dad

He was an Elder, and taught Sunday School

On the Missionary Board, he was

I”m sure his crown has many jewels

He led song service for many years

Until his health, it began to fail

One day he stepped down, retired

His voice no longer prevailed

I miss hearing my dad’s tenor voice

He now sings in the Heavenly Choir

I wonder if he leads singing up there

White robed in his Heavenly attire
