The Winter Wind

The winter winds are a blowing

And it cuts right to the bone

Can't you hear it in the trees

How it whistles and it moans?

It's almost like it's come alive

Changing directions on a whim

Making walking an adventure

As your hand's upon your brim

Sometimes it pushes cold rain

Makes you glad that you're at home

Comfortable, a roaring fire

Hot chocolate, wrap, and tome

Or on a drifted, snowy road

Struggling hard to get through

Wind blown snow swirls about

Distorting your path and view

But the best place of all to be

Warm bed, turning out the light

Windblown windows rattling

Bids you a very safe "good night"
