Duncan

Up and down it goes
And sometimes around the world
Before its time is done
It gets spun, rotated, and twirled

Sometimes it tries to run away
By trying to hop a fence
Then it runs around a corner
A breakaway that makes no sense

It’s been used to shoot the moon
Or go for a forward pass
It’s been used to walk the dog
And thrown down with class

It has skinned a cat before
Found as a three-leaf clover
Rocked a baby many a time
As a trick, it is no sleeper

Its name, it’s called Duncan
What it is, you probably know
Something many children have
A favorite toy called a yo-yo
