The Scout's Dilemma

The camp had been pitched
The evening meal was done
Around the campfire, we sat
Pretending we’re having fun

To bed, we all then went
Our sleeping bags did await
It had been a long day
And it was getting quite late

About midnight it happened
We awoke to loud screams
We were abruptly awakened
From all our sweet dreams

Two boys, they came running
From their tent, they escaped
Bites covered their bodies
As they were slowly undraped

When asked what happened
They shrugged and then cried
They could not explain it
When we asked them why

The question had been asked
The answer was then fulfilled
The two boy scout’s tent
Was pitched on a red ant hill!
