My Grandpa
My grandpa was a gentle man
And this I surely know
The love that was apparent
His house you wanted to go
He raised ten good children
Gave them all that he had
Survived the depression
When times were really bad
He had to do a lot of things
To put food on the table
Farmed, hunted, loved to fish
Whenever he was able
Now he’s gone on to his reward
Of him, I sit and reflect
Of all the people that he knew
How they he did affect
Yes, grandpa was a gentleman
For this, I’m surely glad
As I stop and think about him
He reminds me of my dad
