If A Day Is

If a day is a thousand years

And a thousand years is a day

When I think about how long I’ve lived

Calculating each day is hard to say

It has to be so many billion years

And it makes me feel quite old

I’m not sure I can figure it out

If I can be so precisely bold

The Bible says that time is nothing

When it was created by God

To Him, time is an eternal thing

It is not frivolous nor is it odd

I would like to live a day

And have it last a thousand years

To God, it is only a blip in time

As my time with Him draws near

In His presence, I’ll spend a day

And as those thousands of years pass

Time, it becomes an infinite thing

He and I eternally together at last
